About

I am a proud father of two. The way I approach teaching is the way I approach parenthood. I envision a day when my children feel motivated, inspired, and fulfilled. For me, the joy comes from helping my students discover their passions and finding ways to connect what they’re learning to their interests. I’ve taught abroad and in the United States for over 13 years, written blogs, and coached teachers to share this same vision. My ultimate goal is to help students develop the tools for problem-solving and deeper learning. It also means being vulnerable and recognizing my shortcomings.

My Story

This venture started back in 2016. My children and I were abroad. My eldest was starting elementary school while my youngest was in preschool. A little more background. Schools abroad all cost money - even the public schools. Students often have to pass a test before getting accepted into a school. Students must also maintain a passing score to remain enrolled. I wanted my children to have a strong foundation in English while also learning their native language. We visited multiple bilingual and international schools. Unfortunately, we were unable to afford the tuition.

It is a common situation for local and expat families abroad. As a certified teacher, I decided to homeschool my children in English and mathematics while sending them to public schools to learn another language. Inspired by their growth and motivation, I started offering free curriculum and content to families and students. It led to a successful private business of teaching one-on-one and small-group lessons. I have taught students in the US, Korea, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and Australia.

Although I have cut back on my online teaching to adjust to life in America, I am excited to start it back up in 2025. After teaching in the public system, I have identified gaps that I will be addressing in my blogs and videos. I hope these will help support students (and parents) in their learning journey.
